System Upgrade
Posted June 28, 2007 @ 6:40pm
I did some upgrading to my system. The OS is now Ubuntu 7.04 and everything is like new. I'm extending the writing contest by another week. So far there are six entries, all are very promising! Take care and happy writing!

Schizophrenic Glee
Posted June 24, 2007 @ 9:50pm
As I sit here, I hear the wind and other noises from the outside world. Out of the corner of my eye, I see a shadowy figure. The man in the hat? The demon that haunts my dreams? I didn't have enough time to figure it out. By the time I got a good look at the figure, it had vanished. Ever since then, I've been paranoid and had some hardcore hallucinations. After taking a few shitloads of pills, things seem to be going well for me. I have no idea what sparked all of this tonight, but the problem seems to be licked thoroughly.
One week left on the writing contest! I've got a few entries and some people are planning on entering toward the last minute. The deadline is 12:00am CDT on Saturday, June 30, 2007. People keep asking me, "What is the topic I need to write about?" I've also gotten such silly questions as "Can I write a story or poem instead of an informative article?" The answer to both of these questions is "no subject" and "yes". The contest is very open, write about whatever you would like to. You can write a short story and/or a poem. Just bear in mind that the word limit is 200-1,000. That is no less than 200 and no more than 1,000. I will post the rules at the bottom of this post; just before the picture.
Aside from hallucinations and random thoughts about panda bears, the past few days have been pretty dandy. I've watched some anime, flittered about on Youtube, and roamed around on some forums (namely Jcink's Forums). Well that's about it for this evening. When something eventful happens, I'll post on it ASAP. Here are the rules for the writing contest. Remember that it ends this Saturday at 12:00am CDT. Feel free to ask questions until then!

By the by, check this out! I'm holding a writing contest, the winner gets their article published on my blog. My blog gets about 30 unique hits per day and is always growing. The subject of the contest is entirely up to you. Though I would advise writing about something that can be categorized. Check the blog out to see what categories there are. If you don't pick a category, I'll simply file as miscellaneous.
The rules of the contest are simple. Write an article that catches the user's eye. There is no content limit; your post can be "G" rated to "R" rated, it doesn't matter. Please bear in mind that "R" ratings may wind up censoring the post. Check the blog for post censoring examples. Please use a minimum of 200 words and a maximum of 1,000 words. I will judge on staying on a single topic, maybe two. I will expect a standard usage of the English language. Use proper grammar and punctuation; typos are okay as I will spellcheck before I read the article. You may submit up to three entries. This contest will last for two weeks (deadline: June 30, 2007). Any person is welcome to enter the contest. Good luck to all who participate! E-mail your article to omg.wtf.lag@gmail.com |

Found!
Posted June 21, 2007 @ 5:55pm
I found my wallet yesterday! It was, as with anything I lose, right in front of my face the whole time. That is, it was on my headboard. Now I get to reactivate my ATM card and shell out $10.00 for a new credit card. The plus side is I get to keep my licence and a Christmas present!
Don't forget to enter the writing contest. The winner gets their story/article published on Nerblog! The rules are located here. It can be a totally fictional story, or a news article, or just whatever you feel like writing! Speaking of writing, I don't feel like doing much today. I'll post tomorrow afternoon after my meeting with a case worker. No image for today, either.

Lost!
Posted June 18, 2007 @ 3:10pm
I've got some bad news
. A few days ago, I lost my wallet. Thankfully it had no cash in it, but it did have a Visa card and my ATM card. I also had my driver's license and medical insurance card stored inside. This morning, I cancelled both of my cards. It's going to cost me $10.00 to replace my Visa
. It makes me even more sad because my current wallet was a Christmas present...
Yesterday I had some pictures taken. I also updated the picture on my personal page. The whole collection of the pics I had taken yesterday can be found in my photos section. More specifically here.
I'm on episode six of Lucky Star. I hope to be done with episode ten by Wednesday evening. This show is just too damn cute. It's made by the same company that created The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. There are lots of Haruhi references in the show, too. That's it for today's post! Wish me luck on my wallet recovery
. Oh yeah, tommorrow I'm going to make the new theme default. The old one will still be an option for those who like. Don't forget the writing contest! ~Alex

Daily Acts

People should know by now that when I say, "I'll post tomorrow," I don't mean it. Or at least it seems to be turning out that way. I didn't go visit my therapist yesterday...there were other priorities that had to be met first. I like my therapist and all, but the visitations can be so iiritating. He asks questions that deserve "duh" responses, he hits nerves that are buried deep for a reason, and asks the same questions over and over and over. His eyes bother me, too. It's almost like he can read your mind or something.
My neko is sleeping on my bed just 6 feet away from me. He's really cute because he snores. I don't know if it's normal for cats to do that or not; he's always had trouble with his sinuses. I turn my music down to listen to him snore
. As cute as he is, he's covered with fleas. My mom is going to call the vet sometime next week and see if we can get some medicine for him to remedy the problem.
Tonight I'm going to play on my SNES and watch Lucky Star. Oh yeah, I got about 1.3 GB of Inuyasha music last night. I don't much care for the show, but the music is excellent! Do as Infinity is up on par with Yoko Kanno as far as foreign music goes. Now I just need to pack some UNDER17 into my MP3 player and I'll be good for life! I've got some Silvertide and a few other CDs to import on it, too. I have just over two days worth of music; that's 3 GB worth. I might also watch some Star Trek tonight...Voyager too maybe
. Talk to you folks another day! Hopefully I'll bring some updated pictures of yours truly sometime in the future. Bye~

Dunno
Posted June 14, 2007 @ 7:30pm
Well it has been a pretty boring last few days. I managed to cram a lot of activity into the 10 hours I am awake. Programming, video games, chatting, working out, watching anime, the list goes on. The four pieces of furnature that my mom ordered (two wardrobes and two dressers) arrived a while back. My dad is putting the last dresser up today as I write this post.
I just can not wait until I move out on my own. I have to generate a steady flow of cash before I can do anything, but I am working on that presently. It will be nice to have a place all to my self and such.
Lucky Star grows more awesome as the weeks tick by. I'm on episode six out of ten; there will be 24 episodes in all according to animesuki.com. I will post tomorrow after my therapy session. For now, enjoy this picture of Konata.

Lucky Weather
Posted June 11, 2007 @ 6:05pm
I know I said that I'd post a few days ago, but things happened. Storms and other "things" got in my way. I've been sleeping from around midnight until 2pm on a daily basis, too. That pretty much cockblocks me from doing anything during the day.
I'm up to episode four on Lucky Star now. The first episode was a wash; they just talked about how to eat food. By the time the second episode came around, it increased in cuteness and humor. Those are the two plot-grabbers of the show: humor and cuteness. In the third episode, there is some pretty raw humor. This is the first anime that I've actually heard bleeps in to mask words. Either way, it's a pretty damned funny show.
I recently acquired all seven albums by The Offspring. I'm using 15% of my 20GB iPod n_n. I need moar music! I'll post when I can...provided I actually wake up tomorrow. Now some words of wisdom from Konata on flat chests.

At a Loss
Posted June 6, 2007 @ 4:05pm
The rest of yesterday went rather well. Mom tended to Dirty Grandpa this morning; I was too fatigued to go with her. She finished the paint job last night. All of my parents new furnature and their new "sleep-comfort" mattress were delivered today.
It's a lot nicer nicer in the house now that the paint fumes have dissipated. The cat seems much happier as well. He's been hanging around with me a ton; we've been napping together and everything n_n. I've even been feeding him in my bedroom. The local ant population seems to be diminishing -- this is good news for the household :-).
I went for a ride yesterday around noon to see my dad at lunch. My mom slipped me a 20 dollar bill to cover the expenses. I "lost" the green before I even left! I didn't realize this until I had already gone for the 20 minute ride. My dad and I both paniced. Well as it turns out, it fell out of my shoe before I even left; I found it in the backyard :-(.
I know I've said I would, but I haven't gotten around to watching Lucky Star yet. Last I checked, there were eight episodes out and subbed. It's probably up to nine now, though. I'll post again in a day or two...or when something noteworthy happens.

Another Short Post
Posted June 5, 2007 @ 11:30am
My mom is a man on a mission. Well, not particularly a "man" on a mission, but you get the idea. She is painting their (mom & dad) bedroom. She's been working on it for three to four days straight now. I think she's almost done, though! She is painting the walls a nice shade of green
.
Tonight I am going to watch an episode of Lucky Star. From what I gather, it's a good show. I keep making more and more progress through Lufia and the Fortress of Doom. I'm going to take a break from it tonight; I'm going too fast D:
My cat is snoring on the floor about 2 feet away from me n_n. Picture is from Lucky Star. I might post again later today/tonight, or I'll post tomorrow. My posts just keep getting shorter and shorter D:.

My parents have decided to do some surgery to their bedroom. They stripped all of the furniture out, scraped, primed, and are now painting all of the walls and the doors. The house reeks of paint thinner. I don't know how people inhale that shit, it's so horrible D:. Since all of this is hazardous to pussy cats, I'm keeping Mr. Black and Fluffy in my room if he's not outside.
I've played a tad bit on my newly acquired SNES. I just love this game. After I beat it, I'm going to gun for Earthbound. It's easy to get a ROM, but I want a copy for my SNES. Well I'm going to evade the mess in the house and play some video games and dive into some anime. I'll post a bit tomorrow.

Lufia!
Posted June 2, 2007 @ 4:25pm
Today is the day that a Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) was purchased. About four months ago, I received a copy of Lufia and the Fortress of Doom.
Hooking the console up was a breeze. I got stumbled up because the SNES wouldn't run on channel three; I have to use four instead. After I beat Lufia and the Fortress of Doom again, I'm gonna find a copy of Earthbound. All of these games I played on my emulator, but doing it righit with the console is more fun. Time to play more Lufia.
As each day ticks on by, that golden day approaches -- the day I move out and get my own place! Hopefully by August at the latest is when I'll be all moved out. I think it's time to dick around on my computer some more then watch some Voyager! I'll post on Monday at the latest.
