Relapse
Posted Mar. 28, 2007 @ 7:55pm
This past week has been rather eventful to say the least. I've had up and down bouts with my medicine, gotten back into the swing of World of Warcraft, saved a baby from a burning building, etc.

The medicine that I'm currently taking is getting pretty damned scary. I have lost my memory on three seperate occasions now. Now it wasn't a total memory wipe, but 80 percent or so went bye-bye. I got it all back over time, but it was rather frightful while it was happening. Take last night for example. I wake up and ask my mom, "Who am I? Who are you?" She quickly responds with my name and reassures me that she is indeed my real mother; my dad was asleep at the time. Apparently this side effect of my medicine happens to approx. 1 percent of the population taking it. This med is hitting me hard with the drowsiness as well. In fact, the only side effect that doesn't seem to be bothering me is weight gain. I've been very cautious with my food intake and have actually lost some weight! It will take anywhere from four to twelve months for this medicine to fully take effect (ULCH). I just hope that it works.

I shelled out $40.00 to upgrade to Burning Crusade and the $15.00 for a month's playtime in World of Warcraft. I'm liking the expansion so far. What really bums me out though is all of my friends just stopped playing. One of them even went to the extreme of deleting all of his characters. He said, "I play too much." It's very hard for me because I have two level 60 characters and I don't know which to get to 70 first. I might even go so far as to make a blood elf warlock. There's my priest and my warrior; I could get Bath (56 mage) up there too I reckon. Either way it's going down, I'm gonna stick with good ol' PvE servers. Call me a carebear if you want. I just don't enjoy being camped by some buy 40 levels higher than me.

Well that just about sums it up for today. Sorry I haven't posted in so long, but I've just had other shit on my plate. Oh yeah, I might be looking at another trip to the hospital soon, not quite sure yet, though.

Green Like Spring
Posted Mar. 21, 2007 @ 5:40pm
Well, as of yesterday, the spring season is officially upon us. That means no more wintry ice and snow storms. That also means that hoodie season is almost over . Sometime this week it is supposed to reach the 79-81 degree range! It's very nice to see the trees in bloom, the green in the grass, the birds, and all of the other springtime joys. Sometime this week or next week, I will go around with the camera and take pictures of the trees and flowers.

No news in the life is good news I suppose. Some things happened today that I'd rather not discuss at this moment, but they weren't anything bad. Oh wait a second, there is some bad news to report on. For the second time, I have had to totally withdraw from all of my classes at the university. It was either that, or take D's and F's; I'm not a moron or anything, nor am I that lazy. I have just been either unstable or in the hospital (or both!) and unable to attend any of the lectures. I will say one thing though, as headstrong as my schizophrenia is, I find that I am all that and a bag of chips. Even if it takes a decade, I will obtain my degree! As far as I'm concerned, it will take more than men in hats, demons, multitudes of cats, and other crazy hallucinations to stop me!

I've added a blogroll to this place! I discovered that several people were linking to Nerblog from their own personal blogs or websites, so I thought that I'd return the favor. You can find it on the right-hand side of the page, just above contact information. They're all very interesting blogs, go on and read away at your own leisure. I'll post again sometime in the near future. Oh and I might pick up WoW again soon . Video is Shinedown -- 45.

I love my GBA. It's like portable fun and it doesn't land you in jail for public exposure while playing . On the serious side of things, I lost a myriad of games for Gameboy Color and Gameboy Advance -- this make nerd sad...;(. I went out yesterday morning and re-purchased the games that I lost. A couple of the games were actually gifts D:<. The games I got back were from the oracle series (Zelda games); I also lost a few RPGs along the way. I bought both for under 20 dollars. I have absolutely nothing else to post, so here's a picture of Albert Fred. Oh wait there is one last thing: VVV is being subbed again! /cheer

Crazy Rhymes with [Lazy]!
Posted Mar. 14, 2007 @ 7:25pm
Okay so this might not turn out to be a 600-1000 word post...so bite me if you don't like it . Not a much has been going on over the past few days. Thanks to the new medicine that I have been put on, I now sleep the majority of my days away; today was the first day I've been up all day in quite some time. I haven't even had the energy to play Twilight Princess (zzzzzzz). I have been exhausted beyond all belief, so to say that I haven't been able to exercise is an understatement. Mile-long walks wear me down both physically and mentally. As far as aerobic goes, I'll just keep walking and increasing the mileage by one per week. Anaerobic is a totally different ball game. All I'm doing now in regards to anaerobes is pushups and situps. These wear me down all over my body, too!

To make matters worse, my new medication stimulates the appetite. Eat more, move less -- the perfect combination to be in top-notch shape! By suggestion of my mom, I'm going to try and eat nothing but cereal for a while. In any regard, I'm going to limit my caloric intake to less than 1,500 calories per day. I've been averaging 12-14 hours of sleep with a far greater amount of calories recently, and that packed on a few pounds that I'm not too happy about (they've gotta go...now!). Either way it's going to be a rough ride while adjusting my medications. To top it all off, I have to restrict my caffeine intake to about 2 cups of coffee per day (ulch!).

Yesterday I got a new CD! Flyleaf ~ Flyleaf. Dunno exactly how auld the album is, but I'm liking it . My favorite song off of the album is "I'm so sick". Here's the music video of it that I found on YouTube. So, not a long post; I'll post again tomorrow probably though.

Tee Pee

So I got this pretty kickass video game as a birthday gift. I'm sure you've all heard of it; most of you have even probably experienced its wonders. I even wrote an an article on it a few months ago. The game I am referring to is none other than The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. Unlike the previous Zelda games that I've gone thru, I'm taking my time with this one. Sadly I don't own the Wii version, so I might be missing out on a few aspects, but I really don't care.

This game has it all: looks, sounds, moves, and of course that certain "charm" that all Zelda games possess. This post is not intendeded to be a review of the game, but merely a summary of my overall experience that I got from playing [the game]. The graphics are a plus, as is the smooth control setup (GC ver). The sound reeks of traditional Zelda, which of course scores awesome in my book. I am currently gathering light essences for the third light spirit, so I am still not far into the game.

That's all -- just wanted to make a post dictating that I am indeed alive and am just playing video games. Unless I get sent to the nut hatch again, I plan on posting again on Saturday. Random pic is from TP.

One Flew Over the What?
Posted Mar. 5, 2007 @ 3:50pm
I'm so very sorry for not posting last week like I said I would, but something more important than that popped up. I was having one psychotic breakdown after the other; I was having hallucinations out of my seemingly crazy ass. I saw the traditional man in the hat along with what seemed to be a representation of myself (bald though) dressed in the same outfit as the man in the hat, but with thicker glasses. He almost looked like Daniel Jackson off of Stargate SG-1. I kept hearing and seeing more shit than ever before. I was actually pretty damned scared -- I cried out "Mommy, help me..." several times last Monday. The straw that broke the camel's back was the command voices telling me to hurt and/or potentially commit suicide. A call was then made to a crisis hotline and a grand adventure began.

When the family (Mom, Dad, and myself) arrived at the location where we were to meet with a counselor, we had to wait for about 20 minutes as she wasn't quite ready. After the waiting there, it turned out that out of the two psych wards in town, only one had one available bed. To those that do not know, to get admitted to a psychiatric unit, one must usually go through the emergency room. We all know how fun those E.R. waits can be, don't we now!. Well it's 9:30pm and the three of us are sitting in the room that they put [us] into. Three hours later is when my parents go home and I stay the night in the E.R. (apparently someone upstairs went AWOL and started smearing feces on the walls, so they didn't have a bed available). I wake up at 7:00am down in the E.R. and eat some breakfast. After waiting for a few more hours, I get up to the unit at around 12:30pm. That's a grand total of FIFTEEN FUCKING HOURS IN A WAITING ROOM!

Okay so now the fun part of my EPIC JOURNEY begins -- I'm so excited that I just might make a wee in my pants! As with most units like this, the majority are drug users; these places are common precursors to rehabilitation centers. I saw a few people, the ones that really needed help, in there buzzing around like airplanes and TALKING VERY LOUDLY. So since changing and making first impressions was complete, I was free to mingle amongst my insane, joint-smoking brethren. My roommate was a pretty cool fella. He was this 5'5" guy that had all the TATS and a goatee that actually beat mine to the ground (ego--). It was just a zoo of different folks; talk to me sometime when I'm on skype or on an instant messenger if you want the full scoop. I love making posts with abrupt endings such as this one. Here's Jack Nicholson from One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.
